Perfect Sushi Rice

Master the foundation of great sushi with perfectly seasoned rice.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse rice until water runs clear.
  2. 2Cook rice with water in rice cooker or pot.
  3. 3Mix vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl.
  4. 4Transfer cooked rice to a wooden bowl.
  5. 5Fold in vinegar mixture gently with a paddle.
  6. 6Fan the rice while mixing to cool it.
  7. 7Cover with damp cloth until ready to use.
